How to Troubleshoot Hammerhead Go Karts

Hammerhead manufactures several types of off-road go karts, which profess to offer rugged maneuverability as well as excellent ease of use. When the product is in proper working order, that may be the case, but there are issues that can impede performance, such as discomfort in the driving position or structural weaknesses.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure that the fuel tank is sufficiently full if the engine is failing to start properly. Remove the fuel cap and fill the fuel tank with an appropriate amount of unleaded gasoline. Attempt to start the go kart again.

    • 2

Configure the go kart for proper use if you are still struggling to start it. Make sure the gearshift selector is in the "N" position. Turn the ignition key fully clockwise to engage the engine starter. This should successfully start the machine.

    • 3

Make a visual inspection of the go kart if the performance is sub par; for example, if it is delivering a rough ride or sluggish handling. Check the tires, drive-line components, suspension and chassis. If there is any visible damage, have it repaired by an expert.

    • 4

Remedy discomfort during your ride by making small adjustments. Something as simple as adjusting the seat and properly securing the harness can make a big difference in driving comfort.

    • 5

Properly service the battery. This includes checking all the connections for security and ensuring no debris is present. You should also be conscious of any leaks which could necessitate replacing the battery. Fully charge the battery before use and try to operate the go-kart again.

    • 6

Use a socket wrench with a spark plug extension to remove the spark plug. Check for any debris or leakages which may be present, and make sure there are no cracks or damage on the spark plug. Replace if necessary.

    • 7

Use a wrench to tighten the wheel nuts if the tires appear to be loose, which can badly effect the ride quality, and potentially be very dangerous.
