Stand a 40-oz. soup can on a table. Cut through the top with a can opener. Pour the contents out into a plastic container and dispose of the lid in the garbage can. Cut off the other end of the can with the can opener. Dispose of the lid in the garbage can. Wash the can with water and let it air dry. Repeat this entire procedure with the other 40-oz. soup can and the two 24-oz. soup cans.
Place the two 24-oz. cans on a table. Apply a line of bonding glue vertically to one side of one of the cans. Place the side of the can that has been glued against a side of the other can. Let the glue set overnight.
Place the two 40-oz. cans on the table. Apply a line of bonding glue vertically to one side of one of the 40-oz. cans. Place the side of the 40-oz. can that has been glued against a side of the 24-oz. can that is to your left so that it forms a 45-degree angle to the left.
Apply a line of bonding glue to one side of the other 40-oz. can. Place the side of the 40-oz. can that has been glued against a side of the 24-oz. can that is to your right so that it forms a 45-degree angle to your right. Let the glue set overnight.
Cut the bottoms off the paper cups with scissors. Place a bottom on top of each of the four cans. Tape the bottoms of the paper cups to the sides of each of the four cans with cellophane tape.
Place a paper cup bottom on the table. Apply a bead of white glue to the center of the cup. Push an end of a toothpick into the glue. Let the glue set for an hour. Repeat this entire procedure with another paper cup bottom and another toothpick.
Apply bonding glue to the free ends of the two toothpicks. Place the end of each toothpick against the center top edge of the two 40 oz. cans. Let the glue set for three hours.
