Things You'll Need
Instructions
Stand the clean, empty soda bottle on a table. Measure six inches down from the top of the soda bottle with a ruler. Draw a line around the bottle at the six-inch mark with a grease pencil.
Score around the line drawn on the bottle with the blade of a utility knife. Continue to score the bottle until the blade has gone through the plastic. Break the neck of the bottle off with your hand.
Run the edge of a piece of fine-grit sandpaper around the broken-off end of the bottle. Continue to sandpaper the end of the bottle until the surface is smooth.
Stand the bottle on the table with the neck facing up. Tie a bow, using the ribbon streamer, around the neck at the top of the bottle. Tape the sides of the streamer where it touches the bottle with strips of cellophane tape.
Pick up your homemade trumpet by the bow. Place the opening at the neck against your lips. Blow through the neck while vibrating your lips to make the trumpet sound off.
