How to Wakeboard & Powerslide

Wakeboarding is a popular hobby for outdoor sporting enthusiasts. Like water skiing, participants hold on to a cable pulled by a power boat. Once you learn the basics of waterboarding you can move on to performing numerous tricks. The powerslide is among the moves most novice waterboarders learn before progressing to more difficult tricks.

Instructions

  Hold on to the cable. Give the boat the thumbs up signal to start. Stand up and start wakeboarding.

  Wait for a wake to form in the water. A powerslide looks best if you can create a large splash effect. Performing a powerslide through a wake will optimize your splash.

  Direct yourself towards the outside edge of the area in which you can safely go. Dig your heels into the board and change direction. Hold on to the cable and move perpendicular to the boat cutting through the wake. Once you get to the other edge of your radius, dig your toes into the board and perform a powerslide in that direction.
