Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine the desired width of your net. Cut one length of nylon cord or twine to match that desired width with the scissors. Determine the desired length of your net. Multiply that number by 1.1. Use that measurement to determine the length of your second piece of cord or twine, and cut it to match the measurement. These two pieces of twine or cord will serve as your two template pieces.
Once you have determined the full size of your net, cut two cords or pieces of twine to match every inch of netting. In other words, you will need 100 cords for a fish net that will be 50 inches wide. Position all your cords in a grid pattern on a flat work surface.
Form a loop, starting at the top widthwise cord at one intersection point in your grid. In your left hand (or in your right hand if you are left-handed) hold each end of the loop you previously made. Use your free hand to pull the other piece of twine at the intersection point into and through the preformed loop.
Wrap the twine or cord under and around the tie or loop it through the space that lies between the cord running lengthwise and the cord running widthwise. Tie a new knot through each intersection in your grid.
Once you have tied a loop through all the intersections, use the scissors to cut the fishing net to the desired shape. Check each tie to ensure it is securely knotted.
