How to Make a Snowtube Fast

Snow tubing, an exhilarating way to pass the snowy winter months, is usually done on snowy ski hills. Since many ski hills are also tucked away in the mountains, snow tubing offers the excitement of winter sports while engaging the senses in what is often breathtaking scenery. While ski hills are often slick from the already compacted snow, it doesn't stop serious snow tubers from wanting to go faster. Increasing your snow tube's speed involves finding the right kinds of trails and using the inner tube to your advantage.

Instructions

Select an inner tube designed for fast sliding. Many tubes are designed for specific functions. Some are designed to give you more control for navigating snow trails, while others are aerodynamically designed to speed downhill.

    • 2

Avoid dragging your bottom on the ground while sliding. If your bottom is sagging through the inner tube it will drag against the snow and will slow you down significantly.

    • 3

Have someone push you at the top of the hill. It can also help to add another person to the tube. The added weight will force you down the hill at a faster speed.
