Locate the type of .270 WSM ammunition for which you want to view the ballistics under the "Caliber" category. The three types of .270 WSM ammunition are .270 WSM, .270 Win and .270 Wby Mag.
Read the chart from left to right to view the bullet's ballistics. The bullet weight is the weight of one bullet. The overall cartridge length is the length from the base of the bullet to the tip. The muzzle velocity is the speed at which the bullet is fired and is measured in feet per second (fps). As the bullet flies through the air, it falls toward the ground. The trajectory is the change in the bullet's height once it travels 300 yards. The muzzle energy is the measurement of force at which the bullet is fired and is measured in foot-pounds (ft. lbs).
