Things You'll Need
Instructions
Wash the items you wish to dye once if they are new, but do not dry them. Dye adheres better to wet cloth. Be sure the items are cotton or cotton blends to ensure dye adhesion.
Bunch each of the items into a ball that is compact, but not completely hard-packed. Secure with several rubber bands that go around the entire circumference of the sphere.
Prepare the dye according to package directions and fill the squeeze bottles with it, one for each color of dye. You will use these to apply the dye to the fabric.
Lay out the drop cloth or plastic bags to protect the surface you are working on, taping any seams in order to prevent leakage. Place the bunched up items on the plastic.
Squirt the dye onto random areas of the fabric ball. Try not to use any one color more than the others, unless you know the woods you will be hunting in are far more one color than any other, such as green in the summer. Space the different colors evenly, but don't worry if any of the khaki color shows through; this color coordinates with the camouflage colors.
Allow the fabric to dry to the touch. Wash the items according to the directions on the dye packages, and dry as usual.
