Use the hex wrench to loosen the four bolts that secure the pull starter to the side of the engine. Remove the screws, then pull the pull-starter off the engine and set it aside.
Slide the roto start onto the back of the engine by inserting the motor shaft into the middle of the roto start. The motor shaft protrudes from the back of the engine block; it is a metal cylinder with an octagon-shaped head at one end. The octagon fits into the roto start.
Insert the four bolts through the roto start, then tighten them with the hex wrench to fasten the roto start to the engine.
