How to Customize USMC Window Cling

Vinyl window clings are displayed on houses and vehicles to show holiday spirit or loyalty to a favorite sports team. Military families show dedication to the service by proudly displaying a window cling of a U.S. flag or the name of a destroyer. The USMC, United States Marine Corps, is rich with culture and tradition. Symbols and icons represent Marine Corps values. Customize your USMC window cling with a permanent marker by adding a symbol of a sword, the Semper Fidelis motto or a first name and rank to personally represent your Marine.

Instructions

    • 1

Verify the spelling of the name or symbol that you plan to use to personalize your window cling. Consider using the name of an important platoon, military rank or meaningful motto.

    • 2

Place the window cling on a flat surface. Do not remove it from its backing.

    • 3

Draw the image or word directly onto the window cling. Go over each letter or symbol until it is dark.

    • 4

Peel the window cling from its backing and adhere it to the window. Because permanent markers resist fading and are water resistant, the window cling can be attached to the inside or outside of the window.

    • 5
Remove air bubbles with the edge of a credit card.

Press gently on the window cling to remove any air bubbles in between your personalized message and the glass. Excess air can make your design hard to see. Remove fine air bubbles by gently scraping the edge of a credit card across the decal. Work from the center outward in all directions.
