How to Replace the Battery in a JR XP8303

The JR XP8303 is a radio-controlled (RC) toy device that features a number of electronic components beneath its plastic decorative shell, including a battery pack and a receiver board through which the other components run. The battery and receiver are directly linked via the battery's two-wire lead, but fortunately the two can be separated and the JR XP8303's battery can be replaced in order to extend the life of the RC device. Previous experience with RC devices is not required.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the JR XP8303 RC device.

    • 2

Remove the plastic shell surrounding the JR XP8303. This will reveal the components lying atop the JR XP8303 base inside. Place the plastic pieces to the side.

    • 3

Locate the battery pack. The battery is the black, rectangular component that has a two-wire lead extending out of its side. This two-wire lead extends into and connects to an open channel, or insertion point, at the end of the rectangular, green receiver board.

    • 4

Remove the battery's two-wire lead from the receiver board, then simply disengage the battery pack from the JR XP8303's base. Set it aside for later disposal.

    • 5

Apply a thin layer of professional-strength glue to the bottom of your replacement battery. Press the battery down onto the JR XP8303's base and allow the adhesive to bond with the base. Allow several minutes for drying.

    • 6

Plug the two-wire lead extending out of the battery into the vacated channel on the end of the receiver board.

    • 7

Replace the plastic shell of the JR XP8303 RC toy, using your glue when necessary to rebond the shell to the base.
