Instructions

    • 1

Attach the handle to the top of the welder using the screw and screwdriver.

    • 2

Remove one of the handle covers from the ground clamp. Insert the ground clamp wire into the cover and the inside handle of the clamp. Attach the wire to the clamp with the provided screw, nut and washer using the wrench. Slide back the cover on the handle. Make sure the cover is in good condition; this cover is meant to protect you from the electrical current.

    • 3

Loosen the screw on the electrode handle and slide off the grip. Loosen the screw on the electrode and insert the electrode wire into the grip and electrode. Secure the wire by tightening the screw on the electrode. Slide the grip back onto the electrode and secure it by tightening the screw.

    • 4

Unscrew the screws on the plug and open it. Use the diagram provided with the plug to locate the ground and hot wire connections. If the plug is for a 120-volt outlet, locate the neutral wire connection as well.

    • 5

Strip 1/2 inch off the end of the wires coming from the welder. Attach the green wire to the ground pin. Attach the black wire to the L1 or hot pin. If the plug is a 120-volt connection, attach the white wire to the neutral pin and cap the red wire by twisting the wire nut onto the exposed end until there is no metal showing. If the plug is 230 volts, attach the red wire to the L2 hot pin and cap the white wire. The attachment method used will depend on the plug you have purchased.

    • 6

Replace the cover on the plug. Make sure the plug covers all the wires and a portion of the main sheath.
