Instructions
Pick a tulip-shaped glass to allow the whiskey to swirl around the glass without spilling. Hold the glass by the stem and tilt it slightly as you swirl the whiskey gently around the glass. Hold the glass upright again and watch the whiskey foam slightly and drip down the inside of the glass. The slower the whiskey drips down the glass, the older and finer the whiskey.
Raise the glass gently to your lips and take a very tiny sip to taste the strength of the whiskey. You can also test for strength by putting the glass to your nose and smelling it. If the taste or smell is overbearing, you may choose to add ice or water to distill it. You can add a mixer as well, however, many enthusiasts argue that scotch malt whiskey is best enjoyed without it.
Drink the whiskey in slow, small sips, savoring the taste in your mouth and concentrating on the flavors and aromas before swallowing. Enjoy in moderation and drink responsibly.
