Things You'll Need
Instructions
Establish a clear idea of what you want your social group to do. You must have a specific purpose in mind before proceeding. Decide on the kind of people you want to join your social group. Determine whether the group needs money to run, or members can join for free and pay for their food and drink if you meet monthly at a restaurant or elsewhere.
Start with friends first with whom you share interests. Invite your colleagues, classmates and associates who might be interested in joining. Social groups sometimes start small before they can attract large crowds. Let your friends also invite their friends. By word of mouth, social groups grow over time.
Find a suitable place to meet that would encourage members to come every month. Plan the time, date and place for the introductory meeting ahead of time to allow the word to spread. Include contact information when you advertise the first meeting. This is important because it gives people a sense of security when they are sure there's someone behind the next project.
Open an account on a social networking website where members of your group can share pictures and information if your group has already started. You can also use the social networking sites to start a monthly social group. They allow you to start a group by creating a page containing information including group name, theme and membership eligibility.
Invite people once you create a page for the group on one of the social networking sites. If you want an even larger monthly grouping, post an ad on an online classifieds website or create brochures with information about your grouping.
