How to Bend Acrylic Pipe Stems

You may need to bend your acrylic pipe stem if your pipe gets too hot, such as a pipe that is left in a car in the summer, or if the current stock bend simply doesn't suit you. Once you heat the stem, you form the pipe to the desired bend just like you shape vulcanite pipe stems.

      Hold firmly and pull the stem straight out to remove from the pipe.

      Center the stem on a pipe cleaner, so there is a pipe cleaner handle on each end of the stem.

      Preheat the oven to 270 to 275 degrees. Fill a cookie sheet or pie pan with table salt and bury the stem in it.

      Bake the stem for 15 minutes. Put on gloves to protect your hands, and remove the pan from the oven.

      Lift it by the pipe cleaners, and immediately bend it into shape. support by the pipe cleaners for one to two minutes or until completely cool.
