How to Start My Revo Without Using the EZ Start

The EZ Start mechanism was designed to simplify the engine-starting process on many Traxxas radio-controlled (RC) vehicles. However, this device can be somewhat cumbersome and limiting to the seasoned veteran or to a hobbyist trying to learn the vehicle inside and out. Things You'll Need

Screwdriver
Pull-start assembly
Nitro fuel
Glow plug igniter

Instructions

  Loosen the four mounting screws that fasten the EZ Start mechanism to the side of the engine. Pull the EZ Start off the engine, exposing the hex nut of the drive shaft.

  Insert the hex nut of the drive shaft into the pull-start assembly, then press the pull-start assembly against the side of the engine. Secure it with the four mounting screws (previously used by the EZ Start).

  Fill the tank with nitro fuel, then clip the glow plug igniter onto the top of the glow plug---found in the center of the engine head. It is a small nub protruding from the top of the engine; the igniter should clip over it.

  Wait a moment while the glow plug heats, then jerk the pull start as if you were starting a lawn mower and the engine will come to life.
