How to Connect BNC Connectors

Bayonet-Neill-Concelman, or BNC connectors, are standard electrical components used on electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and signal generators. They are also used on professional video, audio and computer network devices. You find them on coaxial cables or electrical cables having a central wire surrounded by a plastic jacket and a shielded ground conductor. BNCs are simple to use and make secure connections do not pull apart. Equipment usually has male gender BNC connectors. Cables have female BNCs at each end.
