Things You'll Need
Instructions
Find an inexpensive RC car at your local toy store. Any model RC car should work for the purposes of creating this basic bot.
Strip off the unnecessary plastic pieces of the car. This shell that surrounds the RC car is not needed.
Salvage the necessary components. There will be a black battery pack and a green, rectangular receiver board to remove from the RC car and save. Leave the wheel base with the two attached servos (motors) as they are. The two servos are relatively small, black circular components with a two-wire lead coming out of each.
Prepare the hook and loop fastener pieces. Take your two hook and loop strips and cut each into two separate pieces using scissors so that each strip is separated into one hooks piece and one loops piece. Spread a thin layer of professional strength glue on the backs of each of the four pieces.
Place one of the hook pieces onto the back of the receiver and the other hook piece onto the back of the battery pack.
Put a loops piece onto the top of the wheel base and the other loops piece onto the bottom of the wheel base. Allow several minutes to dry.
Connect the components to the receiver board. The board has channels that act as insertion points on its end. These allow for the attachment of the other components. Insert the two-wire battery lead into one of these channels.
Connect each of the servos' wire leads to the channels on the end of the receiver as well, but ensure that each component is wired into a separate channel. Each of the servos and the battery pack must be wired separately.
Turn on the controller that shipped with the RC car and use it to move your bot around.
