How to Wear the Cub Scout Denner Cords

Cub Scouts is a Boy Scouts of America group specially created for boys ages seven to 10. The Cub Scouts program is intended to improve the lives of young boys by teaching them respect and understanding, along with improving their character development, fitness, sportsmanship, and volunteerism A Cub Scout is appointed as a Denner or Assistant Denner by the Den Leader. While appointed, they work as an assistant to the Den Leader and are responsible for tasks including starting the pledge and helping in setup before a meeting.

Instructions

    • 1

Unroll the Denner cords; there are two side-by-side cords, but they often come rolled up and packaged.

    • 2

Insert your left arm through the ropes and pull them up to the shoulder. You want the side of the felt patch with a flat edge (as opposed to a slightly rounded edge) to be nearest your body.

    • 3

Place the yellow felt patch on top of your shoulder and allow the ropes to hang down by your side.

    • 4

Unsnap the uniform shirt's epaulet -- also known as a shoulder strap -- and wrap it around the yellow patch on the Denner Cords. Snap the epaulet closed.
