Things You'll Need
Instructions
Secure the three strands of steel rope together at one end. A clamp can be used to secure the end together and hold them as you braid. Many clamps are different and instructions will vary, but most steel cable clamps will slide over the end of your braid and have a U-bolt and nuts that need to be tightened.
Put a paid of work gloves on to avoid scratching or cutting yourself with the steel rope, which can have sharp sections.
Begin a braid, just like you would with any other material. Take the left strand and place it over the middle strand. Next, take the right strand and place it over the middle strand. Repeat this process repeatedly until you reach the end of your braid.
Secure the loose ends of your braid using another clamp. You may now use your braid for whatever you desire.
