Things You'll Need
Instructions
Put your paddock boots on your feet, and tie the shoelaces securely, or zip the sides, depending on the style of boot.
Slide a pair of spur straps onto your paddock boots at the seam that goes around the top of the boot so that the spur strap rests around your ankle. Make sure you purchase the correct size spur strap for your foot size. Consider that adults with shoe sizes larger than seven should wear adult-size spur straps, while children and adults with shoe sizes smaller than seven should wear child-size spur straps.
Fit your spurs onto the heels of your paddock boots so that the sharp, round rowel of each spur is pointing down and is at the back of the heel of your paddock boots. Find the button or snap on your spurs, and attach it to the single-hole side of each spur strap.
Pull the multiholed side of each spur strap until it is snug around your paddock boot and won't slide off. Line up the hole at that snug-fitting point with the snap or button or clasp on the other side of the spur, and attach it to the spur there. Repeat for each boot.
Stand up, and walk around. High step and jog to ensure the spurs stay in place on your paddock boots. If they slip, sit back down and tighten your spur straps to the next hole on the multiholed side for a more secure fit.
