Things You'll Need
Instructions
Empty out the backpack. Open all zippered compartments and turn the backpack upside down to make sure it is completely empty. Airing out the backpack on a regular basis will help keep smells from developing.
Use the upholstery attachment of a vacuum cleaner to clean out any crumbs and other small bits of debris.
Mix together a solution of cool water and mild soap in a tub or large sink.
Immerse the backpack in the soapy water. Scrub the pack inside and out with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly with clear water.
Hang the backpack to dry in a well-ventilated area with all compartments unzipped. If hung indoors, use a box fan to aid in the drying process. If hung outdoors, avoid direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
