Instructions
Remove the battery cover from the transmitter; it is located on the bottom of the device. Slide it off toward the front of the controlled (an arrow appears on the battery cover as an indicator). Install eight AA batteries in accordance with the diagram printed on the interiro of the battery compartment.
Turn on the power switch to the receiver and the transmitter, then install the servo horn (included with your vehicle's kit) onto the steering servo. The proper orientation of the servo horn will be detailed by your vehicle's instruction manual; but, in most cases, the horn should only be installed after you have centered the steering trim on the transmitter. This knob is located on top of the steering wheel (it is labeled DT1). Click the botton in either direction until the number displayed on the LCD is zero.
Set up the throttle settings by turning on the transmitter and the receiver, then press the push button switch on the receiver while the throttle is in the idle position. You will hear a confirmation beep. Set the full throttle position by holding the transmitter trigger in full throttle, then press the setup button (a confirmation beep will sound). Hold the transmitter trigger in full brake position, then press the setup button until the confirmation beep is heard.
Drive the vehicle forward while assessing its steering trim. If the vehicle tracks to one side and not straight, use the DT1 steering trim to offset this by clicking it in the opposite direction. The larger the number that appears next to R (right) or L (left) indicates the distance from center trim. For example, if your vehicle veers hard right, then click the DT1 left until the vehicle drives a straight line. The display will show L7, depending on how much correction was necessary.
Use the DT2 button, located to the left of the steering wheel on the transmitter, to adjust the throttle trim. If your vehicle doesn't remain still when the transmitter's trigger is in the idle position, press the DT2 to correct it. In other words, if your vehicle lurches forward without transmitter input, click the DT2 down until it remains still. The display will show F (forward) or R (reverse) with a number, indicating how far the setting is from center.
Adjust the vehicle's steering rate by using the D/R button located underneath the steering wheel. If your vehicle cannot turn sharp, click the D/R up to increase the steering radius; if your vehicle makes wide turns, click the D/R down to decrease the turning radius. The display will show the percentage of the total steering rate; for example, 95 percent.
Change servo function between Normal or Reverse by selecting the channel with the selector button (located to the right of the steering wheel) to highlight the channel you want to change. Channel 1 is the steering servo, Channel 2 is the throttle servo. Use the DT1 to change between Reverse and Normal. Reversing the servo will make the vehicle travel in reverse when you apply --- what would normally be --- forward throttle.
Set the Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) function of the transmitter by clicking it in the menu with the selector button. Use DT1 to change between OFF (inhibited), FST (fast), MID (middle) and SLW (slow). All settings except for OFF will engage the ABS function, which prevents the vehicle from skidding when the brake is applied.
