How to Install the Turret Press

A turret press must be mounted to a workbench before it can be operated safely. A turret press is a machine that allows you to reload your own ammunition. A die set for each particular type of ammunition must be used to size and fill cases, seat primers and bullets and crimp them in place. To ensure consistent and safe operation, the turret press must be mounted to a solid workbench.

Things You'll Need

Felt-tip marker
Workbench
Hand-held drill
Drill-bit, 1/4 inch
4 bolts, 1/4 wide and at least 3 inches long
4 nuts, 1/4 inch
4 washers
2 wrenches

Instructions

  Place the turret press in the proper position on the bench and mark the holes with a felt tip marker. Remove the turret and drill the holes with the drill.

  Place the turret back on the workbench and place 1/4-inch bolts in the holes. Place washers and nuts on the bolts and tighten them using two wrenches. Tighten the bolts in an alternating fashion. Do not tighten one side fully while leaving the others loose.

  Gently shake the turret press to see whether it moves and tighten the bolts further if it does.
