Set the throttle and brake positions of your transmitter to 100 percent, and its throttle trim to neutral. Place your vehicle on a stand that keeps the wheels from touching the ground.
Turn your radio controlled transmitter power switch on.
Plug your battery pack into the ESC so the red connector terminal of the ESC is connected to the positive (+) terminal of the battery pack, and the black connector terminal of the ESC is connected to the negative (-) terminal of the battery pack.
Use the plastic screwdriver provided along with your XP SC 200 to press the "Set" button on the bottom right of the control panel of the ESC for at least three seconds. The LED will flash red/green to indicate that the XP SC 200 is in setup mode, then release the "Set" button.
Press the "Set" button while the throttle of your transmitter in neutral. Wait for the LED to flash green; this indicates that the neutral setting is stored.
Move the throttle trigger or stick to "Full" position and press the "Set" button until the LED flashes red to indicate that the full throttle setting has been stored.
Move the brake trigger or stick on your transmitter to the full brake or reverse setting. Press the "Set" button until the LED lights three times.
Disable reverse if you wish by pressing and holding the "Set" button while the ESC is connected to the battery, and enable it once again by repeating the procedure. Disable low voltage cutoff if you wish (recommended for LiPo batteries) by pressing the "Set" button twice until the LED flashes green five times. Repeat this procedure and wait for the LED to flash red five times if you wish to re-enable low voltage cutoff for standard NiMH batteries.
Make sure the red/green LED remains on and begin using your remote control vehicle according to the directions for it and the equipment that you have installed on it.
