Attach a 4-inch or 6-inch abrasive cutting disc to the angle grinder. To do this, place the backing washer on the spindle first and then the abrasive cutting disc. Place the locking nut on the spindle. Press on the spindle lock and then tighten the locking nut with the spanner.
Make a mark on the metal with the felt-tip marker. Place a straight edge against the mark and then draw a cut line.
Place the piece of metal on the edge of a bench and secure it to the bench with clamps. Put on a pair of safety goggles.
Position the grinding disc on the mark at the edge of the metal at a 10 to 15 degree angle.
Press the trigger to begin cutting the metal. Move the grinder slowly along the mark on the metal until you have completed the cut.
