How to Design a Fundraiser Ticket

Designing a fundraiser ticket is a fairly inexpensive way to get pertinent information to a lot of people. Most fundraisers, such as a special dinner or a benefit concert, work to raise money for a cause or nonprofit group. This can be done at home or, if you do not have access to these items, you can use the free computers at a public library and take your design to a local print shop.

Instructions

  1. Create the Ticket

    • 1

Open a new document. Set the template to "Compliment Cards." This is a basic fundraising ticket size. Spend some time going between the clip art designs, or insert your own image. You will be able to see the specific sizes in the program. Do not alter the size, since that will alter how many print on one sheet of card stock.

    • 2

Insert a text box, and add all the information. You need them to know the basics: who, what, when, where, why and how much. Keep your information brief. Remember that you are only working with a set amount of space. (The default was 8.5 inches x 3.66 inches.) Save your ticket when you are finished with the design.

    • 3

Recreate this image (the entire ticket) for each ticket you plan on printing. Do this by copy and pasting. The default is set to print several tickets on one page.

    • 4

Click on Insert. In Publisher, you can insert page numbers. In this case, it will be ticket numbers so that you can keep track of who sold which ticket. Click on the 'x of y' option. This works just like in other programs, assigning a number to each ticket set up in the program. Much like in a word document when each page and subsequent page has its own page number, this will read each object as its own, assigning each object its own number instead of each page.

    • 5

Click on print preview to double-check that your tickets look the way you want them to.

    • 6

Load the card stock in your printer and print, cut them out and distribute.
