     Pull out the documents contained within a paper clip. Take a long look at the edges of the documents.

     Look specifically at the upper left hand corner of the documents. Most people paper clip in this location.

     Detect any indentations outside of the current paper clip location. If you find such an indentation, you have evidence that the paper clip previously attached at that location.
