Things You'll Need
Instructions
Twist the two halves of the diabolo apart to reveal the bearing. You may need to use a wrench or ratchet to remove the nuts on the open ends of the diabolo. Place the washers, nuts and bolts in a safe place so you don't lose them later.
Soak the bearing in a small jar filled with degreaser or mineral oil and swirl it briefly. Leave the bearing to soak for 5 minutes. Place the bearing on a paper towel to dry thoroughly before replacing it.
Put the diabolo back together and use it normally. If the diabolo still has trouble moving, you can try adding lubricant. You will need to take the diabolo apart again to expose the bearing.
Add a drop of lubricant to the bearing. For best results, use a lubricant labeled for use with yo-yos. Wait 5 minutes for the lubricant to sink in.
Put the diabolo back together again and use it as normal. It should glide smoothly on the string. If necessary, add more lubricant until the diabolo functions properly.
