How to Attach a Knife Pouch to a Belt

Knives are a valuable tool for camping, hunting, wood-working or wilderness survival. However, if you carry a lot of gear, holding a knife in your hand or stashing in your bag is a hazard and inconvenient. Attaching a knife to a belt keeps it at your ready, allowing quick and easy access. Some knife pouches or sheaths are designed to be attachable to belts, but if yours isn't, you can modify it.

Instructions

    • 1

Make two small, parallel incisions about the width of your belt in the fabric of the pouch. You can loop your belt through these incisions.

    • 2

Cut a small strip of sturdy fabric, such as canvas, denim or heavy cotton, about two inches in length and a half inch in width.

    • 3

Stitch each end of the fabric strip to the back of the knife pouch at the top, forming a loop. You can slip your belt through the loop and dangle the knife pouch at the side.
