What are Heelys?

• Heelys are athletic shoes that allow you to go from walking to skating without ever changing your shoes. They look like a fashionable sneaker, while the underside consists of one single wheel. Some versions of these shoes have a grinding plate built into the shoe itself, which allows the experienced Heelys skater to do extra tricks, such as grinding. The wheel on a Heelys sneaker is removable, which gives you the option to use your Heelys as a regular sneaker. What is Grinding?

• Grinding is the term used when a skater uses the middle of the skateboard, or in this case Heelys skate shoes, to "grind" or run the skateboard down the edge of a structure; such as a staircase railing or sidewalk curb. Like the Grind 'N Roll, the Five-O also comes with a built-in grinding plate, along with a FATS style wheel that is set inside of the heel with a faster bearing, allowing for more speed with gliding or skating. The Five-O also comes with heel plugs and a removal tool for those times where you would rather walk than roll.
