How to Troubleshoot RC Boats

Radio control boats offer countless hours of fun and excitement. These devices are operated from a distance by means of transmitted remote signals. You can perform tricks and enable a boat to work anywhere on water within range of the radio control transmitter. Occasionally, you can experience an issue that causes trouble with your device. You can troubleshoot your remote control boat in a few simple steps in order to nurse the device back to health.

Instructions

    • 1

Check both the receiver and transmitter for a power switch. Switch both to the "On" position.

    • 2

Open up the battery port on both the receiver and transmitter. Make sure the batteries fit in the proper alignment, based upon the "plus/minus" indicator on the device. Use new batteries if necessary.

    • 3

Adjust the frequency. Try to find a frequency that works. Verify the solidity of the antenna connection. You may need to replace the antenna. Also make sure you are away from electrical sources that can affect transmission, such as high voltage lines or radio towers.
