Things You'll Need
Instructions
Grip the boot tightly in one hand behind your back. You can hold it by the toe or the leg of the boot. Try a few practice throws to find out which method works best for you.
Get a running start. Depending on the competition, you can stand or run up to the pitch. As with other throwing sports, running often grants greater distance.
Stop at the pitch or marker line. Do not continue past the throwing marker or your throw will be disqualified.
Swing your arm around as you come to a stop. Use the momentum of the running stop, the weight of the boot and your own muscles to throw the boot with the greatest possible force.
Release the boot straight in front of you. The straighter your throw, the greater the distance.
