How to Load Brass Shotshells

Brass shotshells represent a common type of shotgun ammunition. These devices deliver a powerful shot and generally work well as a primary type of ammunition. You can easily load a brass shotshell in the same manner in which you would load any shotgun ammunition. This will ensure the safest possible process for loading your ammunition and will prepare your gun for a shot. You can repeat this process as many times as you want in order to keep using your shotgun.

  Turn your shotgun's safety on. Never load a shotgun without first taking this safety precaution.

  Open up your shotgun. Press downward on the barrel and unhitch the lever holding the barrel in the locked position.

  Place a brass shell into the barrel. Use multiple shells if your gun has the option to do so. For example, pump action shotguns allow multiple shells. Place the shells into the barrel into the gun by following the gun's specific loading instructions. Close the shotgun and fasten the barrel lock. You can now turn off the safety and fire the gun.
