How to Use the SI Tex 106 Fish-Finder

The Chromascope CVS-106, manufactured by Si-Tex Marine Electronics, is a fish-finding aid used for boat angling. The product uses sonar technology to detect depth, find fish and other objects. The Si-Tex company, founded in 1975, specializes in marine electronics. Some common ones include charting systems, GPS devices, autopilot systems, weather communications, depth sounders and fish finders.   Ensure that the video sounder cable securely connects, if the monitor fails to display any video. Adjust the range depth with the up-and-down arrows on the "Range" button to the right of the display. Press the "Gain" button's up-and-down arrows to adjust video clarity.

  Inspect the power cable if the monitor fails to operate. Cable kinks and exposed wires are indications of a damaged cable. Replace a damaged power cable.

  Attach the plastic hood which accompanies the monitor if bright daylight impedes display screen visibility. The plastic hood is tinted for anti-glare purposes. Clip the hood onto the top of the monitor.
