How to Build a Country Fair Booth

Country fairs are generally a multi-day outdoor event held in the autumn. These fun, family events are best known for their rides, games and food. Vendors sell a variety of baked goods, snacks, crafts, clothing and other homemade items to the many in attendance. If you have never rented a booth at a country fair and are unsure whether it will be worth it, you may find it easier to create your own booth to cut down the rental fees.

Instructions

    • 1
      PVC pipe

Lay each PVC pipe on the ground. PVC comes in 10-foot lengths, which is equivalent to 120 inches. Mark all four pipes with three markings at 78, 108 and 110 inches. Mark two pipes at 64 inches. Cut the pipes to the marked lengths with a hacksaw. Clean plastic remnants off the end with a rag.

      90-degree PVC elbow

Construct the frame. Lay two 30-inch pipes parallel to each other. These will be the sides of the booth. Connect 90-degree elbows to the front end of each pipe. Connect 45-degree elbows to the back end of each pipe. Fit 2-inch pipes inside both 45-degree elbows. Fit tees onto both 45-degree elbows. Insert 78-inch pipes into the 90-degree elbows and the tee fittings. These will stand up, forming the uprights. Fit a 64-inch pipe into the other end of the tees to connect the two side panels. Attach 90-degree elbows on top of the front uprights and 45-degree elbows on top of the back uprights. Connect 30-inch pipes between the top 90-degree elbows and a 64-inch pipe into the top 45-degree elbows.

Detach the 45-degree elbows, 2-inch pipes and tees from the back-bottom pipe. Apply PVC glue to these parts. Reassemble the frame.

    • 4
      Cloth for the background

Cut four cloth panels 80-inches long by 67-inches wide. Sew a 4.5-inch hem into both of the 67-inch sides of three pieces. Slide the top three pipes through these hems. Hang these three cloths. Slide the bottom three pipes through the bottom hems. Hang the fourth cloth in the back, folding it over both sides of the pipe to hold it in place and completely obscure the pipe.
