How to Find a Girl Scout Unit

The Girl Scouts of the USA were founded in 1912 and are rapidly approaching the 100 year anniversary of their origination. The popular group has over 3 million members in the United States. Girl Scouts organizations overseas are quite popular as well. Locating a unit or troop in your area is a relatively simple process involving little more than seeking out the Girl Scouts official website and contacting a representative in your region.

Instructions

  Go to the girlscouts.org website and select "Find A Council". You'll find it in the top right hand corner of the introductory website page. Select this option and link over to a map of the United States.

  Find your state on the United States map and select it. You also have the option to search for a specific council by entering either your ZIP code, state or the council name for which you are searching. This information is located directly to the right of the map.

  Once you have you have located a council in your region, you will notice that a phone number and email address are provided. Choose to make phone or email contact with the Girl Scout council in your area.

  Either call or email the council in your area. Inform them of your location and ask them to provide you with a list of Girl Scout Units or Troops in your area.

  Use the information the council has provided for you to contact the unit. Call them or email them and ask them for the information you are seeking. They will be happy you are interested in the Girl Scouts and they should be able to answer any questions you will have.
