How to Install an Ultradot Scope on a 1911

The Ultradot scope is a compact aiming device which projects a red dot aiming point onto the target. It is small and lightweight enough to mount on a 1911 pistol for enhanced target acquisition. The Ultradot is designed for the universal Weaver mounting system, so it fits any standard Weaver scope base. While it is possible to install a base on the top of the pistol's slide, this requires the services of a gunsmith to drill and tap the slide. Fortunately, there are mounts available that the pistol owner can install at home.
