Place the overhead projector's base on a table or stand that faces the wall or screen that it will be used with. Rotate the projector so that the back is facing you. Loosen the screws around the bracket at the top back of the base, using the Allen wrench.
Insert the pole into the bracket. Loosen the screws around the bottom of the lens assembly, using the Allen wrench. Place the top of the pole into the bottom of the lens assembly.
Rotate the lens so that it is facing the wall or screen. Tighten the screws around the bottom of the lens assembly. Tighten the screws around the top back of the base.
Plug the projector's power cord into an outlet for power. Blow off the glass on the top of the base, using bursts of compressed air.
Place a translucent sheet with diagrams or other artwork on the base. Switch on the projector. Loosen the knob on the side of the lens assembly. Raise or lower the lens assembly until the image being projected on the wall or screen is in focus. Tighten the knob.
