How to Fix a Snapped Rod

Fishermen usually store their fishing rods either in a boat or a shed. At some point your fishing rod might snap or break. Instead of throwing it away, you can salvage the rod. You just need a few items to repair it.

Things You'll Need

  • Knife
  • Sandpaper
  • Contact cement
  • 2 ferrules

Instructions

    • 1

Trim any splinters from both ends of the rod with a knife.

    • 2

Sand the broken ends of the rod until they are smooth, using the sandpaper.

    • 3

Place cement on the large end of the rod and slide the largest ferrule onto the rod. A ferrule is a metal or plastic sleeve used to bind two parts together.

    • 4

Place cement on the smaller end, using the brush included in the package, and slide the smaller ferrule onto the rod.
