Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check the fuel level of the truck if the engine refuses to start. If the fuel tank is empty, refill the tank. Charge or change the battery if the fuel level is full.
Adjust the idle speed if the engine starts then stalls. If the idle speed is too low, it might cause the engine to stall. The idle speed is controlled by rotating the idle speed screw, located above the carburetor opening on the engine. Use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed.
Inspect the drive-train, located beneath the truck, if the engine is performing poorly or is slow to accelerate. Check for string, wire or other debris caught in the drive-drain. Extract the debris carefully to avoid damaging any truck components.
