Things You'll Need
Instructions
Inspect the fuel lines and hoses if fuel is visible in the water surrounding the boat or the fuel levels appear to drop unusually fast. Kinks, cracks or deterioration are signs of damage that could cause leaking. Replace any damaged lines or hoses.
Lubricate the control valve if the steering becomes difficult or impeded. Apply multi-purpose lubricant through the grease fitting. Stop applying grease when the grease becomes visible through the rubber boot.
Check the fuel line fittings, carburetor and fuel pump mountings if the boat's performance diminishes. If any are loose, secure the mounting bolts and screws tightly with a wrench or screwdriver. Loose fittings and mountings can cause further component damage after further use.
