Things You'll Need
Instructions
Teflon-Coated Gasket
Fill a small bowl or container with warm water.
Place the Teflon seal in the warm water between two and three minutes if you are using it to create a seal in a cold environment.
Remove the Teflon seal from the water and dry it with a clean cloth.
Set the seal in place and set it in any grooves, such as those on a piston. Position the seal in a groove on one side and then stretch it over to the other groove.
Repeat this process to install additional dry Teflon seals to a piston or moving part.
Teflon Tape
Wipe the threads of the pipe with a cloth or rag to remove any dirt and moisture.
Wrap the Teflon tape around the threads. Make two to three complete revolutions around the threads.
Cut the tape with the scissors. Press the end of the Teflon tape onto the threads. Attach a fixture or other connection to the threads and tighten.
Repeat this process to apply dry Teflon tape to other pipe threads.
