Things You'll Need
Instructions
Possess the ammunition. Items that are in your personal possession are assumed to be yours as the owner, hence the idea of possession being 9/10 of the law. If you have the ammunition in question, then it adds weight to the legal idea that it is yours.
Provide a receipt of payment showing that you purchased the ammunition. A simple receipt, showing where the ammunition was bought, when and with what, backs up your claim of ownership. A credit card receipt can be tracked directly through your electronic paper trail.
Describe the ammunition to the current owner to help prove authenticity. If the ammunition was not in your possession and you are claiming it somewhere, give an accurate count and description. The number of rounds left, the type of rounds in it, the brand and if it was hand loaded, reloaded or factory ammunition.
