Clips attached to a grounding rod allow you to connect anything to ground quickly and easily. They are useful for grounding the chassis of any piece of electrical equipment. This connection to ground provides a direct path for electricity to flow through in the event of an electrical short. It is an extremely important safety precaution anytime there is a risk of electrical shock, such as when troubleshooting electronics that must be powered on to diagnose the problems.
