How to Mount High Power Hardware

High-power hardware such as a large and heavy speaker can be mounted on a wall with a bracket. A bracket is needed to support the weight on the wall. You can install a wall-mount bracket on virtually any type of wall. To do this you will need to determine what type of hardware you want to mount and where on the wall it is to be located.

Things You'll Need

Tape measure
Pencil
Stud finder
Level
Screws
Power drill

Instructions

  Determine where on the wall you want to mount your hardware. Use the tape measure to find the best placement on the wall.

  Locate the studs in the wall with the stud finder and make a mark on the wall with the pencil.

  Place the bracket on the wall and position it over the studs. Check the position of the bracket by using the level. Mark the location of the mounting holes on the wall.

  Drill pilot holes in the wall with the power drill.
- 5
  Place the bracket back on the wall and insert screws into the mounting holes. Drive the screws into the wall.

  Place the speaker or other piece of high-power equipment on the bracket.
- 7
  Repeat this process to mount additional high-power hardware.
