Instructions
Search locally for life raft service and inspection agencies. These companies specialize in the inspection, servicing and repacking of life rafts and there are usually several to choose from in a waterfront community, so shop around. Upon deciding on a company, contact them and schedule an appointment for the raft to be shipped, picked up or dropped off. Some companies offer on-site pick up and drop off which can be arranged.
Gather any certificates, warranties, bill of sales, etc, that were issued upon purchase of the life raft. Documents provide the technician with important information such as proof of purchase, the brand or type of life raft, its size, how often it should be inspected and if it is still under the manufacturer's warranty.
Request a service certificate once the life raft has been repacked by the company. Repacked life rafts are given a certificate which states the unit has been serviced and meets all necessary standards. The certificate also show the next inspection date for the raft.
