Projectile Launcher Instructions

Building your own elastic powered projectile launcher can be done easily with a few commonly found materials at your local hardware store. This launcher works great for water balloons or other like weighted objects. It is very compact, easily transported and requires three people for optimum operation. Once constructed, this launcher will be found to be quite accurate with a little practice. Remember to only launch projectiles in a safe direction and never at a person or animal.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut your surgical tubing into two 8-foot lengths.

    • 2

Drill four holes around the wide end of your plastic funnel, evenly spaced so there is one at the top and bottom and one to the left and right, 1 inch from the rim.

    • 3

Tie a knot at the end of one length of tubing and feed it through the hole in the funnel, from the inside out, feed the other end through the hole next to this one, from the outside in. Tie a knot, one fed through and cut off any slack tubing on the other side of the knot.

    • 4

Do the same with the other length of tubing using the other two remaining holes in the funnel.

    • 5

Have two friends each hold one loop of tubing with their arms extended, braced in place, while you place your projectile into the funnel. Pull backward adding tension onto the surgical tubing and release. Your projectile should travel between 50 and 150 yards.
