How to Install a Brushless in a GPV-1 RC

The Venom GPV-1 is a radio-controlled motorcycle that delivers the high-speed fun of motor racing to the world of hobby-grade radio control. This powerful machine is stock built with a typical brushed motor, which is subject to the routine of wear affecting all brushed motors. Installing a brushless motor in your GPV-1 enhances the vehicle's durability and overall performance.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the two sections of the outer body shell by pulling the metal clip located on the front of the vehicle just above the front tire and the two located on either side of the rider's seat. Disconnect the body shells to reveal the inner workings of the vehicle.

    • 2

Find the motor located between the tires near the bottom of the vehicle's chassis, then use the screwdriver to loosen the two mounting screws. Pull the motor out of the chassis, then disconnect the two wires that lead to the electronic speed control by pulling them apart. Remove the pinion gear from the motor shaft by loosening the small bolt found in the side of the gear with the Allen wrench

    • 3

Insert the brushless motor shaft into the pinion gear, then tighten it with the bolt. Slide the motor into the chassis, then mount it using the two screws but do not fully tighten them. Rotate the mounted motor inside its brace to mesh the pinion gear with the adjacent transmission. Tighten the mounting screws when the gears are meshed.

    • 4

Connect the positive, red wire and the negative, black wire to the corresponding colored wires leading from the electronic speed control.
