Review your skills. You may once have been adept at woodwork, knitting, embroidery or cooking. It's easy to leave these pleasures behind as life gets busier. Resolve to set aside a short period of time each day to revise this skill. Set a goal. If you're good at woodworking, plan a gift to make for someone's birthday or Christmas. Have a specific purpose to motivate you.
Try other creative paths. Buy a notebook and a writing magazine today and resolve to enter a competition if you've always had a yearning to write. Consider joining a writing group or class. If you have always wanted to paint, find out about classes in your local area. Set aside a period of time each day to listen to some music, read something different or visit an art gallery. These activities can give creative inspiration.
Review your skills and talents with a view to passing them onto somebody else. Many schools and community groups appreciate the help of a person who knows how to knit, sew, paint or make something. Consider passing on your knowledge of art, music, the theater or books to other people as a volunteer, in a care home, youth club or other community group.
Set goals. Include something you haven't tried before such as learning to play an instrument or checking out a new form of exercise.
